The Cats
I'm Spider. Why am I called Spider? I knew you'd ask. Well, nobody knows, really. I think it was Tish's idea to call me Spider. She went "Spider! Let's call him Spider!" and it just kind of stuck with me, I guess. I'm also mostly black and very furry. A bit like a tarantula. With whiskers. I've grown up now, but I still like chasing Anna to within an inch of her life. I was three years old this summer, so I guess that's... 21 in cat years? Yeah. I'm short for 21, but that's because I was a stray. Some people found me in a box on the street somewhere when I was a kitten. I was really thin and sick-looking, and I didn't get much better until Tish's family came and took me in from the people who found me. They gave me some TLC and I got a lot better. You wouldn't recognise me now from how I used to look. I'm not the smartest cat in the world, and I often jump into the living room door windows if I see a bird outside. But I'm very affectionate. I enjoy sleeping all day, watching TV and listening to No Doubt makes me purr. I also like food. A lot. Mmm.
My name is Anna. I was also a stray like Spider (hiss), but I'm older than him. I wasn't unwell when Tish took me under her wing, but I was really shy and anxious. I used to get scared of everything. I still get scared of thunderstorms, but I've settled in well now. I'm about 4... which makes me 28 in cat years. I spend my spare time napping, cleaning myself and chasing birds. I prefer catching and eating birds and mice to eating tinned cat food. Spider likes chasing me around when I want to nap or sit on my windowsill, and it's really annoying. I'm faster than him, but he insists on being beaten. Oh well. I like it when he goes out, I get a bit of peace and quiet finally
I like being left alone usually, but sometimes I'll come up to you for a fuss. If Spider enters the room, I'll probably vacate it as soon as possible. Otherwise I'll try and hide somewhere that Spider is too fat to get into. I know it embarrasses him when he tries to get into wherever I'm hiding, and it makes everyone in the room laugh. I'm so much smarter than him
