Yarr

Used from mid-September to late October
This layout was inspired by a doodle I did while I was procrastinating during a History lesson. It started out as a cat, and then I got a bit hyper and drew an eyepatch on it. Then came the bandana. I was going to draw a tail with a hook on, but I decided against it. When I got home, the first thing I did was take a picture of the drawing with my phone's camera, bluetooth it to my shiny Macbook and open Photoshop. I almost lost hope, until I saw this palette on Colourlovers. It inspired me completely. Forget the ICT coursework - I had a layout to make! So after a few days of tweaking, the weekend came. And I wrote some kick-ass CSS to go with the layout. Et voila! Yarr was born. I honestly couldn't think of a more intelligent name. Sorry guys :P

Pinstripe Cats

Used from mid-August to mid-September
Pinstripe Cats was inspired by a quick sketch I did quite a while ago. I'd blu-tacked it to my wall and forgotten about it, as it was lost with the hundreds of other drawings, photos and other memorabilia I have on my walls. I was rearranging some of the said memorabilia around and I stumbled upon this drawing. Having just made a layout I wasn't happy with, I quickly grabbed my scanner, photoshop and my Wacom pen tablet, and after several hours of tracing silhouettes, making patterns and fiddling about with colours, Pinstripe Cats was born. And then I had to write the CSS to go with it. I chose to have a single column layout simply because I didn't have enough things to put into a sidebar, and I thought the layout would draw the viewer to the content quicker because everything was central. I was happy with this layout for a while, but then it started to get on my nerves, so I took it down.
